How do I make a claim?


When a loss occurs, “Notice of Loss” is made by the policy holder directly to Asegurnet. We are available 24 hours a day.

Details of the loss are requested and the claim submission is tailored to the particulars of the loss. Based on the insured values and the facts surrounding the loss, a police report may be required and a Loss Adjustor may be engaged by Underwriters to obtain additional information.  

What would not be included as part of my insurance policy?


Standard policy exclusions include:

  • Loss or damage caused by or resulting from — natural aging, gradual deterioration, inherent defect, rust, oxidation, moth or vermin

  • Electrical or mechanical fault or breakdown

  • War, invasion, other acts of civil unrest; confiscation, nationalization, requisition, destruction under government order

  • Ionizing radiation or other contamination

  • Loss or damage to items left in an unattended vehicle when a collection is being relocated or moved

Other limitations may be noted in your policy.

How important is “good title” for my fine art in obtaining an insurance policy?


The provenance of your artwork and “good title” are important aspects of providing accurate valuations for AGREED INSURED VALUES and important in substantiating a claim.  Be prepared to provide invoices, appraisals, bills of sale or other documentation or contact the gallery or artist.

We request documentation substantiating AGREED VALUES during the quotation process to streamline claims.

How do I set the sums insured for my Jewellery collection?

Think A = B + C

A= Full value of your Jewelry collection

B= Value of pieces kept in a safe only (In-safe)

C= Value of pieces worn & in-use (Worldwide); when not in-use, stored in a safe

Yes, temporarily increase the value of for pieces in-use (C) with 48 hours advance notice. A marginal premium is charged.

If I want to wear an heirloom ring for a special occasion, can I insure it for limited use?

The relocation of insured works ‘nail to nail’ between your listed Locations is either already covered or can be purchased at a marginal cost. Contact us at least 72 hours prior to the move to make arrangements.

When I move a painting to my vacation home, is it insured?
